A small group of residents met with Dr Lyn Talbot (Corporate and Community Planner) from the City of Greater Bendigo to develop the Goornong Community +25 plan. This was a public meeting and everyone was invited to have input. CLICK HERE for more information on the significance of this planning and the history so far. There are six areas of development being discussed in the plan:

COMMUNITY GRANTS PROGRAM

Northgate Fosterville Gold Mine
is an active and supportive member of the community.
Applications are open until March 31st, 2011 to community groups to undertake a wide range of activities that contribute to the social, educational, recreational and environmental aspects of the local community. These activities should aim to provide wide community benefit and create opportunities for community participation and engagement.

Mt Pleasant Football & Netball Club

The Mt Pleasant Football & Netball club competes in the Heathcote District Football League. We provide three football teams and six netball teams from juniors up to senior grades. Out home ground is based in Toolleen which is about 20-25 minutes from Goornong and Axedale.
